No Code Net Zero

The No Code Hack was back, we just turned green!

In a world where climate action is paramount, companies of all sizes are racing to net zero. We all know that this ambitious goal isn’t always straightforward and requires innovative solutions to help along the way. Unsurprisingly, no code is a valuable ally in this fight against global warming.

The No Code Net Zero Hack ignited a spark of creativity, innovation, and environmental change. Bringing together five no code experts and non-tech teams, they used the power of no code platforms to design and implement solutions which aimed to elevate their position in achieving net-zero emissions.

Let’s take a closer look at the hack, as part of Leeds Digital Festival and the incredible solutions our teams created:

Net Zero Ninjas

Communitas Energy CIC x No Code Ninja

Communitas Energy (CE) is a regulated, not-for-profit Community Interest Company. They don't have shareholders and they reinvest back into the communities they work with. Communitas Energy (CE) aims to make homes warmer, greener and more energy efficient.

Launch better software, faster 🚀 No Code Ninja builds software for people who like to move fast. With his ninja skills, he can design and build your project in weeks (or days in this case), not months, using no-code development tools (Usually Bubble.io).

The Net Zero Ninjas created a solution to cut down the travelling to inspect finished installations of heat pumps to fuel poor homes. In the past this involved journeys to remote locations. Using their newly developed mobile app less travel is required, saving CO2 and time. Their inspections are also now captured and uploaded in real time.

Team Zero

Office of Data Analytics x Panintelligence

The Offices of Data Analytics is a programme to encourage and enable multiple public sector organisations to share, analyse and act upon their collective data to improve public services.

Panintelligence is a three-in-one single solution, that combines BI with intuitive reporting and predictive analytics.

Team Zero built a solution using data sets from Data Mill North that aims to give the citizens of Leeds insights into the carbon footprint of their communities, what they can do to live more sustainably and how to tackle climate change in their local area. Each citizen will be able to see where they sit when it comes to transport, housing, recycling etc

ImagEcode

Imageco x Cubode

Imageco, a champion in sustainable printing has joined our stellar lineup of businesses. Their in-house design, print and finishing services and nationwide installation team mean they have the capacity to manage every aspect of a design project. What makes them stand out though, is that sustainability is at the heart of what they do, meaning they're consistently looking to expand their eco-mission!

With Cubode, you can build your own AI in minutes visually.

Imageco travels across the country to install installations for their clients, with that in mind, ImagEcode built a data analytical and machine learning solution to help them extract information from their data to answer 3 main questions:

1.           What the f**k is data?

2.          How do we find what fleet vehicles we should be using to reduce our carbon footprint?

3.          Can we predict what CO2 emissions we will produce per job that we travel to?

This gives them a holistic view of their sustainability as a business and will help them make data-driven decisions in order to reach their sustainability goals.

A-Z Sustainability

Climate Action Leeds x Aire Innovate

Climate Action Leeds is an ambitious five-year programme funded by The National Lottery. They help people, organisations and communities to come together to take action to make Leeds a zero carbon, nature friendly and socially just city by the 2030s.

Aire Innovate provide a suite of low-code modular digital products as a platform for healthcare and other industry needs. Their customers use their platform to evolve and adapt to new focus areas and improved/automated processes to support business priorities.

Team A-Z Sustainability built an online portal to help people across Leeds understand what climate action is happening in the city, so they can get involved. Their mapping tool allows those working on sustainability to understand how projects are distributed, in comparison to key social well-being indexes.

Data Divas

Lloyds Bank x The Data City

Since 1765, Lloyds Bank has been providing expert support and guidance to businesses in Britain. Supporting British businesses and the UK economy continues to be central to what they do.

The Data City is a DaaS platform that has set a new standard in industrial classification, particularly focusing on the emerging economy.

Team Data Divas built a dashboard showing households, businesses and investors the gaps in services key to net zero. It’ll allow households to find service providers in their area and allow businesses and investors to tackle the related challenges of fuel poverty and net zero

Although we crowned our winners of the No Code Net Zero Hack, each team committed to showcasing how no code can create a more sustainable world. These solutions are just the beginning, and we cannot wait to see how they evolve and contribute to an environmentally friendly future.
